Save the eyes

There is a saying that eyes are mirrors of our soul. But with the advent of our "FAST" life the soul itself has been tarnished off its light. That being a discussion for another day lets worry at least about the mirror.

The following exercise is nothing new as has been doing rounds on the electronic media for quite a while.
The 20-20-20 as it is called is the most easiest and adaptable exercise that keeps the eyes in balanced health. It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours at our desks, looking at the computer screen.

Step 1
Every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn away from it and look at any object at least 20 feet away. This changes the focal length of the lens inside the eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes. It relaxed the strain in the nervous in the eyes and facilitates better focus.

Step 2
Try and blink your eyes for 20 times in succession, to moisten them. Eyes are the most sensitive part that is exposed to the external environment with lesser protection apart from the eyelids. Blinking lubricated the surface and cleans the surface off dust. It also keeps the eyes cool.

Step 3
Time permitting of course, one should walk 20 paces after every 20 minutes of sitting in one particular posture. This increases the blood circulation for the entire body.

Lets start implementing these easy to practice methods to extend the longevity of the eyes. Still not convinced talk to a man who has lost his eyesight. Or rather just tie a piece of cloth and blind yourself and try living for a few hours.
