A bad drainage system is a nightmare even for a man with a blocked nose due to a bad flu and in the long run can ruin the overall health too.
Like the drainage system in every system, Colon is the human drainage system as it is the last and most important part of the digestive system. It extracts the remaining water and salt from solid wastes that come from the smaller intestine. It holds on to the left overs that are properly disposed during our regular morning rituals in the toilet.

Save the eyes

There is a saying that eyes are mirrors of our soul. But with the advent of our "FAST" life the soul itself has been tarnished off its light. That being a discussion for another day lets worry at least about the mirror.

The following exercise is nothing new as has been doing rounds on the electronic media for quite a while.
The 20-20-20 as it is called is the most easiest and adaptable exercise that keeps the eyes in balanced health. It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours at our desks, looking at the computer screen.

Step 1
Every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn away from it and look at any object at least 20 feet away. This changes the focal length of the lens inside the eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes. It relaxed the strain in the nervous in the eyes and facilitates better focus.

Step 2
Try and blink your eyes for 20 times in succession, to moisten them. Eyes are the most sensitive part that is exposed to the external environment with lesser protection apart from the eyelids. Blinking lubricated the surface and cleans the surface off dust. It also keeps the eyes cool.

Step 3
Time permitting of course, one should walk 20 paces after every 20 minutes of sitting in one particular posture. This increases the blood circulation for the entire body.

Lets start implementing these easy to practice methods to extend the longevity of the eyes. Still not convinced talk to a man who has lost his eyesight. Or rather just tie a piece of cloth and blind yourself and try living for a few hours.

Self discipline for Dummies

A very few people rarely have self discipline these days. Self discipline is in the point of discussion only when we make resolution but by the time we start acting on the resolutions it is far forgotten. Even before we get started, we are back to where we were, being INDISCIPLINED.

Let’s take a simple example of lack of self discipline – When I decided to start workout to reduce my tummy, all was well till end of day. The next day I neither had the motivation to continue nor the concern. Here‘s where discipline can make a difference.

Below are some simple ways for dummies to start with discipline

Being satisfied

The first thing that a person needs to learn to be disciplined is to be satisfied with what is present now. When he is not satisfied, he tries to do more and demands more, thus leading to lack of adherence to what is supposed to be done and discipline is lost in the course of action.

Getting rid of bad habits

The most common excuse for in-disciplined is bad habits. One should completely forget the bad habits to be disciplined. Many people try to become disciplined in spite of their bad habits. They fail at some point of time. This is because discipline and bad habits can never go together. Another way of looking at it is that, if a person really wanted to be disciplined, they would have got rid of their bad habit as the first step towards becoming disciplined.

Setting goals

Setting goals for yourself is a very important step in learning discipline. When you set goals for yourself, you will try to complete the activity that needs to be done to attain the goal. Thus goal setting and acting to achieve the goal is very critical. Trying to achieve the goal itself is a very great step towards self discipline. Achieving the goal is better still in trying to be disciplined.

Ignoring negative influences

When a person starts something new, he is subjected to more and more negative influences than positive ones. This is the same with becoming disciplined. There will be negative influences in the form of family, friends and the situation. All these negative influences have to be overcome if a person has to try and become disciplined. Keep at bay from people and situations that are negative and affect your decision to become disciplined.

Staying occupied with activities

Leisure activities like sports and exercises will help a person stay closer to being systematic and work in an organized way and eventually become disciplined. People who are idle have a higher chance of not being able to become disciplined. An idle mind is the devils workshop they say.

Let’s start practicing the art of discipline. For further queries contact your grandparents, as they (almost everyone I guess) are the best living examples of discipline.

10 Principles for Peace of Mind

1. Do Not Interfere In Others' Business Unless Asked:
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God..God has created each one of us in a unique way.No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way.All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way.Mind your own business and you will keep your peace.

2. Forgive And Forget:
This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind.We often develop ill feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us.We nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep, development of stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by constantly remembering it.Get over this bad habit.Life is too short to waste in such trifles.Forgive & Forget, and march on.Love flourishes in giving and forgiving.

3. Do Not Crave For Recognition:
This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in power, but no sooner than you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and will start finding faults in you.Why do you wish to kill yourself in striving for their recognition?Their recognition is not worth the aggravation.Do your duties ethically and sincerely.

4. Do Not Be Jealous:
We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but sometimes they get promotions; you do not.You started a business several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old. There are several examples like these in everyday life.Should you be jealous? No.

5. Change Yourself According To The Environment:
If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the chances are you will fail.Instead, change yourself to suit your environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has been unfriendly to you, will mysteriously change and seem congenial and harmonious.

6. Endure What Cannot Be Cured:
This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage.Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control. If we cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully.Believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience, inner strength and will power.

7. Do Not Bite Off More Than You Can Chew:
This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out.Know your limitations. . Why take on additional loads that may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by expanding your external activities.Reduce your material engagements and spend time in prayer, introspection andmeditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless.Uncluttered mind will produce greater peace of mind.

8. Meditate Regularly:
Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is the highest state of peace of mind.Try and experience it yourself. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend to become peaceful during the remaining twenty-three and half-hours.Your mind will not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually increasing the period of daily meditation. You may think that this will interfere with your daily work.On the contrary, this will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce better results in less time.

9. Never Leave The Mind Vacant:
An empty mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in the vacant mind.Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile.Actively follow a hobby.Do something that holds your interest. You must decide what you value more: money or peace of mind.Your hobby, like social work or religious work, may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement.Even when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name.

10. Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret:
Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or shouldn't I?"Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings.Value your time and do the things that need to be done.It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your mistakes and succeed the next time.Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing.Learn from your mistakes, but do not brood over the past.
DO NOT REGRET. Why cry over spilt milk?
