Mangoes have enough potassium to replenish energy after physical activity.

They also contain Vitamin E and selenium which help protect against heart disease and cancer. You can obtain 40% of your daily fiber intake from a mango.
We all know the importance of fiber in our diets. If you are eating your mango-a-day, irregularity is not a problem for you and so we’ll spare the gruesome details regarding constipation, piles and spastic colon. Research has shown that dietary fiber has a protective effect against degenerative diseases, especially with regards to the heart; may help prevent certain types of cancer, as well as lowering blood cholesterol levels.
The nutritional value of mango makes it good for weight gain, eye disorders, hair loss, heat stroke, prickly heat, diabetes, bacterial infections, sinusitis, piles, indigestion, constipation, morning sickness, diarrhea, dysentery, scurvy, spleen enlargement, liver disorders, menstrual disorders, leucorrhea, and vaginitis.
Mango, being high in calories and carbohydrates, is good for those who are trying to gain weight. The phenolic compound found in mangoes has been found to have powerful antioxidant and anticancer properties. Being high in iron, mango is said to be very good for pregnant women as well as for people suffering from anemia. Mango is believed to be effective in relieving clogged pores of the skin.
Mangoes are a good source of vitamins and minerals essential for the human body. It is an affordable and seasonal fruit. Mangoes can be eaten both raw and ripe. Raw mangoes have a sharp sour taste, while the ripe mangoes are juicy and sweet to eat.

A bad drainage system is a nightmare even for a man with a blocked nose due to a bad flu and in the long run can ruin the overall health too.

Back to the Bananas

Ever wondered the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! Lets peep into the world of Bananas.
Bananas contain three natural sugars – sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy, so much energy that two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes.
But energy isn’t the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
DEPRESSION
People suffering from depression can try a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PMS
Forget the pills – eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
ANEMIA
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
BLOOD PRESSURE
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.
BRAIN POWER
A bananas breakfast, break, and lunch has its effect in boosting brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
CONSTIPATION
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
HANGOVERS
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
HEARTBURN
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
MORNING SICKNESS
Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
MOSQUITO BITES
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
NERVES
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work? Research says the most obese people were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
ULCERS
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Many other cultures see bananas as a ‘cooling’ fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Banana really is a natural remedy for many illness.
For those who tried to sell you an apple to keep the doctors away think again.
Compare it to an apple, banana has FOUR TIMES the protein, TWICE the carbohydrate, THREE TIMES the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals.
It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, ‘A BANANA a day keeps the doctor away!’

Save the eyes

There is a saying that eyes are mirrors of our soul. But with the advent of our "FAST" life the soul itself has been tarnished off its light. That being a discussion for another day lets worry at least about the mirror.

The following exercise is nothing new as has been doing rounds on the electronic media for quite a while.
The 20-20-20 as it is called is the most easiest and adaptable exercise that keeps the eyes in balanced health. It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours at our desks, looking at the computer screen.

Step 1
Every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn away from it and look at any object at least 20 feet away. This changes the focal length of the lens inside the eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes. It relaxed the strain in the nervous in the eyes and facilitates better focus.

Step 2
Try and blink your eyes for 20 times in succession, to moisten them. Eyes are the most sensitive part that is exposed to the external environment with lesser protection apart from the eyelids. Blinking lubricated the surface and cleans the surface off dust. It also keeps the eyes cool.

Step 3
Time permitting of course, one should walk 20 paces after every 20 minutes of sitting in one particular posture. This increases the blood circulation for the entire body.

Lets start implementing these easy to practice methods to extend the longevity of the eyes. Still not convinced talk to a man who has lost his eyesight. Or rather just tie a piece of cloth and blind yourself and try living for a few hours.
